Understanding and valuing sexuality and fertility, to grow in freedom and responsibility.
TeenSTAR International is a federation of national TeenSTAR programs. We promote TeenSTAR (Sexuality Teaching in the context of Adult Responsibility), a sexuality education program for teenagers and young adults, their families and their communities.
Know yourself
Scientifically accurate information on the biological, psychological, cognitive, social and spiritual dimensions of sexuality.
Choose freely
Young people receive the knowledge they need to make their own informed choices, with free and informed consent and confidentiality.
Trained educators
Training teachers is the core function of every national TeenSTAR program.
Our federation
TeenSTAR International is a federation of incorporated national TeenSTAR programs and individuals committed to promoting TeenSTAR and its values. We serve teenagers and young adults, their families and communities worldwide. Each country’s program is autonomous and may also offer programs for children or parents.
Our mission
To promote TeenSTAR, a sexuality education program whose goals are to understand and value each person’s sexuality and fertility. This helps young people build their own identity. The program offers scientifically accurate information on the biological, psychological, cognitive, social and spiritual aspects of sexuality, so that teens can make enlightened behavioral choices of their own.
Our approach
Personalistic anthropology
The foundation of the program.
Socratic pedagogy
Questions that lead young people to discover for themselves.
Experiential learning
Discovering the gift of one’s body, especially the gifts of sexuality and fertility, for greater understanding and self-esteem.
Training teachers is the core function of the national programs. Participation is based on free and informed consent, and all communications are confidential. All members commit to respect the principles taught to young people.
Open to all
The federation and its country members have no religious or political affiliation and welcome everyone, whatever their country, culture, or religious or philosophical belief. When a program is sponsored by a religious body, religious objectives may be added, and the curricula can be combined with any compatible confessional educational program.
